The 2018 U.S. Open College Beer Championship
The U.S. Open College Beer Championship is for Colleges and Universities that teach brewing courses. This competition is held to help determine the best future brewers in North America. Any college or university that offers courses in brewing could enter the U.S. Open. All beers were submitted by one of the school’s brewing professors/instructors. The beers could be brewed on any system on or off campus that is approved by the professors/instructors.

Registration for the 2018 U.S. Open College Beer Championship is now open, colleges can register beer through April 10. Beers will need to arrive in Oxford, Ohio between April 6 – April 20. The medal winners and Grand National Collegiate Champion will be announced on May 8th. The U.S. Open is the only brewery competition for beers exclusively from college and university brewing and fermentation programs.

University and College Entries –
If any of your beers need a few more days to ferment, please contact us and we might be able to make arrangements for a late entry. 5 Categories will be awarded medals. A college can only enter 1 entry per category

Belgian Pale Ale

Category 2 – Bavarian
Munchner Helles
Munchner Dunkel

Category 3 – Stout
Dry / Irish
American Stout
Cream Stout

Category 4 – IPA
American IPA
English IPA

Call for Entries
Beers will need to arrive between April 10 – April 20. Each school may enter a maximum of 5 beers. Entry fee will be $25 per beer. Entry Forms and Rules can be found on the competition website under registration.
